Priyanka Chopra as been approached to play the role of a devdasi by director Kalpana Lazmi to star in her next venture following the release for Chingari and Sinhasan. The role of devdasi is a traditional South Indian woman who claims to get married to God, and thus calls herself a sadasuhagan. She can marry any person of her choice even if it's illegal in law.
