Director R. Balki has choosen Vidya Balan to play opposite Abhishek Bachchan in his next film called Pa (2008) . R. Balki's first feature film Cheeni Kum (2007) was a huge success and stars ab and Tabu , but now he is will have father and son duo of Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan opposite Vidya Balan. This will also mark the first movie for Abhishek Bachchan opposite Vidya Balan .

On Saturday April 26, 2008 the Zee Cine Awards were held in London . Bollywood celebrities walked the red carpet for the Zee Cine Awards ceremony. Mars, the makes of the world famous M\&M’s, announed on Monday that a deal to acquire the chewing gum company Wrigley Jr. Company for about $23 billion. The deal is being partly financed Berkshire Hathaway which has a famous financier, Warren Buffett . Mr. Buffett was also an early investor in Coca Cola.

Miley Cyrus Apologises For Vanity Fair Shoot

Miley Cyrus has come out and apologized for her partially clothed photos in Vanity Fair. Miley is the 15 year old star of Disney's billion dollar Hannah Montana franchise and star of Disney Channel show Hannah Montana. Miley has been pictured apparently topless, with a satin bedsheet protecting her modesty. Miley initially liked the shots as artist but now has reversed her eariler opnions about the shot after the public lash back. Mothers now do not want their daughter to follow and look up to her as a role model.

Danica Patrick Wins One

Danica Patrick finally won the big race. Danica is a race car driver and probably was not favoured to win any race in which mostly men are race car drivers. Now she has proved her critics wrong by capturing first place in Sunday’s Indy 300 race in Motegi, Japan. Danica was the first female to hold a lead in the Indianapolis 500 three years ago and has kept herself in the new since then. She is backed by sponsors like Motorola, XM Satellite Radio and Go Daddy.

Jiah Khan Out Of Ken Ghosh film

Jiah Khan has been removed from the upcoming movie to be directed by Ken Ghosh. The movie is a musical film (probably named Star (2008) ) and stars Shahid Kapoor . Reports have it that Jiah has been removed from the movie cast after Shahid requested that she be replaced because Jiah wanted to hang out with Shahid soon after they were introduced on the sets. Initially Jiah apprehensive about signing with Ghosh because of her strict contract terms with Aamir Khan 's Ghajini (2008) .

World under rice shortage? The price for rice seems to be going up daily and now there are countries putting limits on exports and also local stores in the US putting limits on how much can be bought by an individual. As the world population and consumers of rice grows, the supply seems not to be keeping up with the rise in demand. Price of rice have gone up by more then 30 percent in the two years from 2005 to 2007. Of the world rice 80 percent is grown in Asia. Major exporters of rice are India, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam, and United States. Rice is being imported by Bangladesh, Brazil, Indonesia, Iraq, Philippines, and the Arab world.

The LCD monitors and TV are getting thinner by the day. When plasma TV first came to the market, people were left wondering where did the big caboose behind the screen go? Sony now has introduced the Sony XEL 1 OLED TV . A 11 inch widescreen television which is wafer thin with 1/8th of an inch deep. The model uses new panel technology called OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) and hence is priced at $2,500.

Shilpa Shetty Does An Item Number For Dostana

Shilpa Shetty has shot for an item number on the beach in Miami for the forthcoming movie Dostana (2008) being directed by Tarun Mansukhani. She item number has already been shot in which Shilpa is wearing a bikini. Initially this song was going to be picturized with Priyanka Chopra but she refushed and hence Karan Johar approached Shilpa. The movie stars include Abhishekh Bachchan and John Abraham along with Priyanka Chopra . The movie make be a remake of the 80s classic which starred Amitabh Bachchan , Shatrughan Sinha and Zeenat Aman in the lead role.

Aamir Khan Hurt While Shooting For Ghajini

Aamir Khan Aamir Khan was hurt on the set of is upcoming movie Ghajini (2008) while shooting a fightling scene for the movie. The incident involved him lifting a person and throwing him into the wall, but when Aamir limited the person his hamstring muscle tore up. He was rushed to a local nursing home and received medication. Aamir will now be resting until going back to finish the shooting for Ghajini (2008) . Now Aamir will use the rest and maybe finish up on the post production of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008) Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.

Arbaaz And Malaika Arora To Split?

Bollywood has again gone down one more notch. First it's copying movies, then music and now taking a cherished unity of two people (marriage) and dragging it into marketing. What will come next? This all is considered really cheap. Now if Malaika came out and said something in the future, would you believe it?
There were reports that Bollywood's long standing couple Arbaaz and Malaika Arora Khan marriage was on the rocks and they are going to split. Then later it's found out that it was just another publicity stunt to promote a product launch later in the day. The launch of a skin cream the two celebrities were endorsing came out later that day. Similar thing was done when romantic conversation between Priyanka Chopra and cricketer Sreesanth were floated to media to promote a soap brand.

Today marked a big day for the airline industry where much anticipated merger between Delta Air Lines Inc. and Northwest Airlines Corp. was finalized. The deal is around $17.7 billion and would create the world's largest airline. The new airline will have some $35 billion in revenue and more then 75,000 employees, with access to more than 390 destinations in 67 countries. Delta will have their executive offices in Atlanta, Minneapolis and New York, with international executive offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Tokyo.

Washington Wizards won their final game at home this season to solidify their 5th slot in the playoff standings. The Wizards backups players played really well to beat Indiana Pacers 117-110 to eliminate Indiana from playoff race. Wizards Roger Mason scored 31 points to lead the team. Now the Wizards will face Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoff. Last year the Wizards were swept by the Cavaliers in the playoffs. The Wizards will finish of the season by playing the final regular game against Orlando .

Shankar realizes the benefits the power plant can bring and convincs Sarkar (Amitabh Bachchan), even thou Sarkar is against it at the begining. Then Anita and Shankar travel to villages of Maharashtra to get support from the masses. Things do not go as plan with a lot of shady deals. The matter then becomes a political problem and people want to being down the regime of Sarkar. Movie Review: Directing a sequel to a box office success like Sarkar was is a great challenge and then having your last release, Ram Gopal Varma Ki Agg fail at the box office even adds more pressure to the director. But Ram Gopla Varma has stepped up to the challenge and provides a great sequel, Sarkar Raj. RGV has given us great movies before like Shiva and Satya, but this will top them all. The movie is well written, well acted, and well shot. The movie is powerful and has some great scenes involving the Bachchans like Aish’s first meeting with the Bachchans to explain the power project, to the Bachchans' visit to Dilip Prabhawalkar's residence. As usual Amitabh Bachchan has giving a great performance, with Abhishek Bachchan showing his continues improvement in acting from Yuva to Guru to Sarkar Raj. He has worked hard thru out his career and both father and son will be in the running for some best actor awards this year. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan does delivery a good performance but her acting has not been well utilized by RGV with lack of screen time; given that Aishwarya has had some great performance in the past in movies like Devdas (2002), Provoked (2007), Guru (2007) and Jodha Akbar, Jodhaa Akbar (2008). Toyota plans to build a 2nd plant in India to produce low cost compact passenger vehicles. The plant will be on the site of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited (TKM), which is planned for 2010 opening. The plant at TKM currently produces Corolla and the IMV series Innova minivan. Will the new Toyota low cost compact be able to compete with the recently annouced Tata's Nano? Only time will tell.

India started off to a good start in the 3rd test match being played at Kanpur, India. India's spinner Harbhajan Singh grabbed three wickets, while teenaged paceman Ishant Sharma also took three wickets to bowl out South Africa for 265 on the first day of the test match. India's captin Anil Kumble was ruled out due to injury, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the first Indian 'keeper to lead in tests'. South Africa skipper Graeme Smith scored with 69. The wicket is making it harder for the batsmen to handle the spin and will test the Indian team.

The Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) has Thursday threatened to file a defamation suit against Kerala parliamentarian PV Abdul Wahab. Abdul Wahab, a Muslim League Rajya Sabha member and Non Resident Indian entrepreneurs, called the pilot a "glorified driver" and then was later asked to disembark from a the Air India plane in Kozhikode.

Tata Motors Ltd, India's top vehicle maker, has announced plans to manufacture trucks and buses in South Africa. The manufacturing plants will be setup in Rosslyn, South Africa. This plant was acquired from Nissan Motor in 2006 by Tata Motors Ltd.

India will take appropriate safety and security steps to ensure that the Olympic torch pass thru India with no problem. External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee conveyed the assurance to Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi. Issued were raised about the torch security, and India now has given their assurance by reducing the route of the relay of the torch from nine kilometres to three kilometres within India.

Smriti Irani , the original Tulsi, of the famous Hindi TV show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi will be returning to the show after an absense of about nine months. Now the show writers have to write the story to bring her back. When Smriti previosly left, she was replaced with Gautami Gadgil and now Gautami has to be written out of the story and replaced back with Smriti. Ekta Kapoor will have to come up with something. This will also be the first time Ekta Kapoor has taken back a star who had left her serial midway.

Today at the CTIA, Samsung introduced the Instinct . The Instinct looks and may feel much Apple's iPhone but comes with many of the features missing from iPhone. The phone will release in mid-June and be avaliable for Sprint users. Some of the new features are 3G access, replaceable battery, expandable memory, a 2MP camera, stereo Bluetooth and feedback for the touchscreen. The Instinct measures 4.6" by 2.2" by 0.49" and weighs 4.4 ounces.
