First contestants of Indian origin selected to the Hollywood round of American Idol . The brother (Sanjaya Malakar) and sister (Shyamali Malakar) both auditioned separately and both were selected by the panel to move to the next round. The pair have been trained by their father, who is a classical Indian musician, in classical music.

Bipasha Basu is currently busy developing an action game which will feature her in a tough role. Bips was last seen on the beaches of Rio as a beach girl and supercop in Dhoom 2. She will also been seen in the following movies this year, Dus Kahaniyan , Mr. Fraud and Fool and Final .

The new status is scheduled to be unveiled in March 2007. Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) is currently busy shooting and hoting is new TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati .

Shilpa Shetty Offended On British reality TV?

Shilpa Shetty has been signed by the British reality TV to be on the popular show Celebrity Big Brother and has begun to air on the British TV. Recently there was an incident on the show that has led many to believe that Shilpa has being racially abused. It occured when her costar Danielle Lloyd made a comments about her English speaking abilities and told her to go back home. Only time will tell where this will go or not go!

It's Official: Abhishek Bachchan and Miss World Aishwarya Rai Are Engaged

Upon returning from the world premiere of their film Guru in Toronto January 11, 2007 the talked about Bollywood couple, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan , announced that they were engaged on Sunday evening January 14, makar sankranti, one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar. The date of the marriage has not yet been determined. Aishwarya is 33 while Abhishek is 30 have worked together in recent time in a couple of films like Dhoom 2 , Umrao Jaan , and the most recent Guru .
