Toyota to Build Second Plant in India

Toyota plans to build a 2nd plant in India to produce low cost compact passenger vehicles. The plant will be on the site of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited (TKM), which is planned for 2010 opening. The plant at TKM currently produces Corolla and the IMV series Innova minivan. Will the new Toyota low cost compact be able to compete with the recently annouced Tata's Nano? Only time will tell.
