Ana Ivanovic lost to Kateryna Bondarenko at the US open 2009 2-6, 6-3, 6-6 (9-7) during her first round match to make an early exit from the tournment. Ana is currently ranked 11th in the world and lost to Kateryna Bondarenko, who is currently ranked 52nd. Ana had match point in the 3rd set in the tie breaker 6-5 but netted an easy forehand and ended up lossing the match 9-7.
