Verizon Wireless is in the process of releasing a new smartphone built using Google 2.0 (Eclair) Software called Verizon Droid. The new Verizon Droid is a re-branded Motorola Sholes. The phone has an pixel-dense 3.7 inch screen which is only slightly bigger than the iPhone 's 854x480 screen. That is nearly three times as many pixels as and iPhone, Pre or previous Androids. Droid is a shortened version of Android, the Google Smarphone OS. In other news, the upcoming HTC Desire all-touch smartphone powered by Android and Sense UI will be marketed as the Droid Eris.
